I Tested the Setup Blocks for Woodworking: My Honest Review and Collecting Tips

These blocks earned their place because they provide a reliable standard for the most common table saw and router tasks. They offer a predictable range of sizes that satisfy the needs of someone who wants a no-nonsense, straightforward solution.

In my view, this set is the definition of a dependable workhorse. While they lack the bells and whistles of more expensive kits, they perform the essential duties without fuss or complication.

This set is best for the professional woodworker who demands maximum versatility and high precision during repetitive shop tasks. It caters to those who need to jump between complex setups without constantly reaching for different measurement tools.

I rank this as the top choice because the stepped level design is a clear step above standard blocks. It functions like a Swiss Army knife for your router table, saving you precious time when shifting between different cutting depths.

The standout feature here is the laser engraved size on each block, which makes reading your settings a breeze even in dimly lit corners of the shop. This attention to detail elevates them from basic aluminum chunks to a professional-grade measurement system.

To my mind, these are the best option for woodworkers who value speed and readability during a project. You can grab exactly the size you need without squinting or guessing, which is a massive help when you are in the middle of a delicate joinery task.

The most common complaint regarding this set involves the finish consistency on the edges, yet it remains a powerhouse for those looking for a best value bundle. It provides a generous amount of pieces at a price point that is hard to ignore for a hobbyist.

I see this as the ideal starter kit for someone filling out their workshop on a budget. While you might sacrifice a bit of refinement compared to top-tier sets, the total piece count gives you more options for your money.

Compared to the Comfylichi set above, these blocks strip away the extra fluff to offer a streamlined, basic kit that focuses on the essentials. It is a more minimalist approach for the woodworker who prefers a lighter tool tray.

I like this set for its simplicity and the durable storage case that keeps everything where it belongs. It is a sensible choice for someone who already owns a few measuring tools and just needs a core set of height gauges to round out their collection.

These blocks became popular because they promise a wide variety of thicknesses to handle almost any angle or depth measurement you might encounter. This reputation for versatility is largely deserved, as the specific range of sizes covers most common shop requirements.

In my assessment, this set is a smart pick if your projects involve a lot of varied joinery that requires frequent height changes. It is a reliable, if slightly utilitarian, choice that holds its own in a busy workshop environment.
